2,000 Years of History by the Meter is a wooden folding measuring "stick" based on the old carpenter's tool but with a twist. It features 2,000 years of world history that unfolds on the 2 meters of varnished hardwood ruler. One side is entitled, The Event Side, and features significant data from the Roman times until the Modern times and the Internet. The other side is entitled, The Period Side, and features world history divided into its fundamental periods. Detail entries are provided on intellect/discoveries, powers, and the arts. These details are catogorized from Late Antiquity to Modern Times thereby giving a context for individual events.
2,000 Years of World History is a detailed yet succinct synopsis of history. This learning tool elucidates historical correlations in an extraordinary way. It provides a synthesis of history with clarity, keen intellect, and wit. This book on a wooden ruler also provides the important metric measuring tool so vital for Americans destined to convert to metric already used in scientific circles in the United States and everywhere else throughout the world. In this world of "high tech", young and old alike, enjoy the "high touch" tactile way they can absorb key elements from world history. It is also an instant "history trivia game" that is highly portable and exceedingly durable. For families who treasure knowledge of history, this book on a wooden ruler is built to endure generations of enjoyment. For classrooms, it is built to endure thousands of "fingers" during world history "explorations". Made with craftsmanship quality in Germany, it was first introduced in that country earlier this year and has since taken all of Europe by "storm" with hundreds of thousand sold in its first eight months on the market.
When you unfold this book, you discover it reads like a novel. Learn that Europe was hit by a dance epidemic in 1021 for instance, that night fashion (when people slept completely dressed in sleeping jackets to bed shoes) reached a peak in 1662, and that Johann Sebatisian Bach discovered a musical theme in his family name in 1729!

Florian Koch, born in 1967, studied literature and film is the publisher and editor of 2,000 Years of History by the Meter. He was inspired by an associate who was a carpenter by trade. The two felt that the "old", protractable, durable, wooden measuring tool could benefit from a revival and thus was born 2,000 Years of History by the Meter.Review:
