Published to mark three decades of his artistic activity, this collection contains approximately 100 works selected by Yoshitomo Nara himself, including new paintings. Most of his works depict a single, seemingly innocuous subject, often pastel-hued, large-eyed children or stylised animals. The looks that characterise many of his child-like subjects are especially peculiar, appearing at once mischievous, irritated, or accusatory. Others simply seem benign, patiently waiting until the observer moves on to the next one.
