About the Author

Biography Gennosuke Higaki Higaki began studying karate from junior high school. He has also trained in Okinawan weapons, Daito ryu aikijujutsu, and Shinei ryu and other martial arts. In his early 20 s he became a student of Sensei Shozan Kubota, who studied under Master Gichin Funakoshi as well as Master Kenwa Mabuni. Under Sensei Kubota he received direct oral instruction for the bunkai of katas. He kept this knowledge secret for a long time, but he decided to introduce it publicly for the benefit of younger students on a web site entitled Hidden Karate He has receive a large following through his web site. Currently he is vigorously conducting seminars and other related activities.
