Legends, true stories and tall tales of the supernatural from Okinawa, Japan

Becoming a "ghosthunter" happened accidentally when I lived in Okinawa. I was a reporter for a weekly Japanese newspaper and convinced the editor to let me find some local ghost stories for an October Halloween-themed issue. I began to receive so many stories and tips that we ended up running three weeks worth of local ghost stories. The stories kept coming after that and my editor suggested I write a book. The Ghosts of Okinawa came out in 1995 and quickly sold out its first printing. The second edition and printing has been just as popular and the USO on one of the military bases designed a tour around some of the places mentioned in my book. I got to conduct the first two "Haunted Spots" tours in 1995 and it's been a sold-out event ever since!About the Author:
Hitchcock is the author of six books about Japan and freelances for print and online publicationsincluding Computer Gaming World, Writer's Digest, Link-UP, Interface Monthly, Womens Biz Resources and Computer News.
