He was born June 10, 1930. Though out of favor for a period, Glazunov eventually came to hold the title of People's Artist of Russia. He was the founder of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in Moscow where he also served as a rector up until his death July 9, 2017.
