Mónica Lavín (1955) es autora de las novelas Café cortado (Premio Narrativa de Colima 2001), Hotel Limbo (2008), Yo, la peor (Premio Iberoamericano de Novela Elena Poniatowska 2010), Las rebeldes (2011), La casa chica (Planeta, 2012), Doble filo (2014) y Cuando te hablen de amor (Planeta, 2017), que fue finalista en la Bienal de Novela Mario Vargas Llosa 2019; de los libros de cuentos Ruby Tuesday no ha muerto (Premio Nacional de Literatura Gilberto Owen 1996), Uno no sabe (2003), La corredora de Cuemanco y el aficionado a Schubert (2008), Pasarse de la raya (2010), Manual para enamorarse (2012) y A qué volver (Tusquets, 2018); entre sus ensayos se encuentran Leo, luego escribo (2001), Apuntes y errancias (2009), Sor Juana en la cocina (2010), Cuento sobre cuento (2014) y las entrevistas de Mexicontemporáneo (2016). Actualmente es columnista del diario El Universal y conduce el programa de televisión Contraseñas, en el cual entrevista a figuras literarias. Es profesora e investigadora en la Academia de Creación Literaria de la Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México.
