Most people who see Somphong Adulyasarapan 's work consider him to be the Salavador Dali of Thailand. Somphong's style of painting, the shapes, brush strokes and details of the lines and the choice of colours plus the way in which he presents his ideas are very similar, at least on a superficial level, to that of Salvador Dali. One of the most striking similarities is Somphong's use of egg-shaped vignettes to convey multiple levels of meaning in his Art. His creativity, expressed through his painted fantasies. arises from his profound understanding of and communion with nature. He presents natural truths in a beautiful way, yet the subliminal message conveyed in the paintings is that of environmental conservation. Even though the first impression given by these fantasies is delicate and charming, he also directs sarcasm towards both the negative aspects of people's minds and also to the inevitable progressive dissolution, which happens with the passing of time, to all that has physical form. He visually hints at the ephemeral quality of materiality. In order to escape this unsatisfactory, constantly changing life experience, he conjures up a new world in his mind and dwells happily there.
