Based on the bestselling novel by Richard Bach (who was turned down by a great many publishers before one finally took up his novel and published it, and it sold millions and millions of copies!) This movie was made in 1973 and includes only seagulls (some models, many trained gulls) with voices provided by James Franciscus, Juliet Mills & Hal Holbrook. The music was written and sung by Neil Diamond. This is the metaphysical story of a seagull who didn't want to spend his life scrounging for food, but felt the calling to a higher purpose. He was mocked and hated by the other gulls. Beautiful ocean cinematography.
