VIEW Video is proud to present this entertaining 22-song set, with special friend and guest Patrice Munsel's moving rendition of "My Funny Valentine," recorded at David K's in New York City shortly before his death. No Cover. No Minimum. Just maximum music from "the elder statesman of Saloon Singers." (New York Times)

Hugh Shannon grew up in Missouri but later traded the Mississippi River for the East River. Nevertheless, he never forgot the blues-beat and country music that influenced him. Billie Holiday's encouragement pushed him into a career that spanned the globe, from the Hamptons to Paris, Capri, London, the Virgin Islands and New York. When Billie heard him sing at a party for Duke Ellington, George Frazier, then jazz critic for Esquire heard her tell Hugh: "Man, you don't sound like anybody. You gotta sing!"
