What child, or parent for that matter, can resist up close and personal images of just about every baby animal you can imagine--and then some? Child narrators Jacob and Katherine, so professional they sound like they've done this before, take turns introducing viewers to dozens of animals, from a baby tiger to the lesser-known okapi, a shorter relative of the giraffe. Simple rhymes that young children won't mind hearing over and over--"We're looking for something striped like you/Nothing else will really do"--pop up throughout the five distinct segments that are punctuated by brief cartoons. Each section is set up as a hunt for a specific animal, and the footage that unfolds is amazingly detailed. Just enough facts are imparted to entrance would-be Dr. Dolittles. --Valerie J. Nelson
