Synopsis
In examining the history of China's classical gardens, a certain cultural spirit has always been present. More specifically, it is not a unitary cultural spirit. The different aesthetic perceptions of imperial, monastic and private gardens originated in different cultural spirits. Without such spirits, the architecture, flowers, trees, and landscapes construction are only special techniques. The influence of China's rich ideological and cultural heritage on garden construction techniques is an important reason why China's classical gardens have their own unique characteristics.
