Antara (525-615), as one of poets of suspension poem in obscurantism in Arab, was prized as a perfect heroic knight in pen and sword in Arab. The Legend of Antara is very popular in Arab, just like The Thousand and One Nights. The protagonist in this book was the child of the emperor of Arab and a negro slave, so he was regarded as an illegitimate child by people. An important thing in his whole life is to make proposal to his cousin named Apulai, but sufferings continuously came to him because of the family background. In the meanwhile, Antara became a ideal hero of nomadic pastoralism because he, with a preeminent kongfu, saved his tribes several times from dangers. The unconstitutional and undulate plots in this book highlight the brevity and sense of adventure under the background of fierce battles and bloody wars, besides, it also presents the unique value concept, behavior pattern and characteristics of Arab peoples in the period of obscurantism. We have no record about the original writer for the chapters from 8 to 12, and a Persian writer has took participated in this composition of last half part of this book which adopts prosiness in verse. The whole book contains 10 thousand of lines around, and 32 volumes in total.
