Synopsis
Jane Austins sarcasm is not only applied to the comic personalities of some characters and the comic handling of many plots, but also revealed in the ironical setting of the story in which reality ridicules peoples unrealistic dreams. Lady Catherine de Bourgh, self-important and condescending, took the pains to pay Elizabeth a visit herself, trying to intimidate her not to marry Darcy before going to her nephew for the same purpose. But she would have never known that it was her effort that delivered a crucial message for the young couple who finally held hands.
