About the present Shorter English Nepali Dictionary, has been prepared for the convenience of the general reader of the current literature —newspaper, magazine or book, who speak this language. It represents a masterpiece in lexicography, a model of excellence for the practitioner in the art. The orthography is that followed by it. Many words and phrases current in English have been added in this revised edition, and many idiomatic expressions in English have been rendered into Nepali as accurately as it was possible, without injury to the genius of either language. Words technical in character have received similar treatment. Words or expressions foreign to English but in common use have been collected in a separate section. The reviser is conscious off his own limitations and requests the indulgent reader to be good enough to communicate to the publisher’s criticisms or suggestions for incorporation in a future edition. It is really short and kind of old so it doesn't have all the words they need. There are better dictionaries out there, but this one will do in a pinch. This book is very useful for the British officers. About the T. Warren was a British officer during the Colonial period. He was appointed as a captain in British India. During his posting in this part of the land, he felt a want of such type of dictionary which he compiled in a comprehensive and concise form.
