Dr. D.R. Arora, M.D., Ph.D., M.N.A.M.S., Prof. & Head, Deptt. of Microbiology, Maharaja Agarsen Medical College, Agroha, Hisar (India); Lead Assessor, National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories iABL), New Delhi (India); formerly Prof. & Head, Deptt. of Microbiology, PGIMS, Rohtak (India) has 34 years of teaching experience in microbiology including parasitology to medical, dental and nursing undergraduate and postgraduate students. Besides conducting and supervising research in microbiology, he has published 150 research articles in several national and international journals of repute. The results of his research on malaria parasites and Kiebsiella pneumoniae have been cited in World Health Organization WHO/MAL/83.10003 and Topley and Wilson s Microbiology and Microbial Infections, Vol. 2, 9th ed., 1998, respectively. In addition, he has authored Textbook of Microbiology, Textbook of Microbiology fof Students and Medical Parasitology. He has also contributed a chapter on AIDS in the Manual of Skin Diseases by Jam & Deshore. He has supervised a number of PG students of Ph.D., M.D. and M.S. In appreciation of outstanding research carried out by him in India on bacteriocins of Klebsiella pneumoniae, he was awarded Smt. Kunti Mehrotra Award of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists in 1983. In recognition of significant contribution for the advancement of medical sciences he was elected Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) in 1985. He has been a Visiting Professor in University of Mauritius in 1989. He was awarded WHO fellowship on Laboratory Aspects of HIV/AIDS and STD at Community Health Surveillance and Laboratories Administration, Baltimore, Maryland (USA) in 1992. He was honoured by Indian Medical Association, Kaithal (Haryana) on the eve of Doctors Day on 01-07-1999. He has been examinerforB.D.S., M.B.B.S., M.D., D.N.B. and Ph.D. Microbiologyof a numberof universities. Dr. B. Arora, M.D., Prof. & Head, Deptt. of Pathology, PGIMS, Rohtak has more than 32 years of teaching experience to medical, dental and nursing undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has supervised 60 PG students of Ph.D., M.D., M.S. and D.N.B. She has published 140 research articles in national and international journals of repute. The result of her research on malaria parasites and haemosiderin iron deposition in lymph nodes has drawn the attention of the international scientific community and have been cited in World Health Organization WHO/MAL/83.10003 and Iron Metabolism, Vol. 1, No. 10, Oct., 1979, respectively. In addition, she has co-authored Medical Parasitology. She has been examiner for B.D.S., M.B.B.S., M.D. and Ph.D. of various universities and for Diplomat of National Board of Examination in Pathology. She has also contributed chapters on Retroviridae and Medical Mycology in Textbook of Microbiology for medical students, and chapters on Medical Mycology and Medical Parasitology in Textbook of Microbiology for Dental Students.
