Synopsis

History presents us with much discussion concerning the life and teachings of Jesus before the establishment of Christianity. The last 40 or so years especially have brought to our attention that the established Church is often in conflict with the words of Jesus Christ. In this short essay, Swami Abhedananda addresses this same topic, but from a Vedantic perspective. According to the author, the Religion of the Heart taught by Jesus and practiced by his disciples is in sharp contrast to the religion, professed by the Church, called "Christianity", but which he prefers to call "Churchianity."

Swami Abhedananda seeks to get to the core of Jesus' teachings thus revealing the mandates of the eternal Religion taught by Christ-Krishna, Christ-Buddha and Christ-Jesus.
