Raising the Bat is a novella that follows the journey of a young boy named Suraj, who reaches for the stars and fulfills his dream of wearing the Indian jersey. But as in a cricket match, his ascent and rise to fame and glory is not so smooth as he oscillates between arrogance, self-doubt and sibling rivalry. The young novice learns that life is like a cricket innings: where players enter and exit, rise and fall, are forgotten or immortalised, and that the journey towards victory is often plagued with conflict.
