Om Prakash Pareek was born in Lakshmangarh, Rajasthan, and was educated in Rajasthan and Calcutta. At an early age, he was influenced by the ideals of socialism and equity in society. Outside his professional career as a partner in a public accounting firm, Mr. Pareek has been an active participant in civic life in New Delhi, the town he now calls home. He has been published in periodicals, and has held honorary positions as assistant editor at Taxman and Anima (a Bengali periodical).
