Hildegard of Bingen was born in Bermershein, in southern Germany, in 1098. Frail and ill, those attending the delivery predict that she will not last through the night. But she will survive, and this will become one of the milestones of her prodigious existence. Since she was little, she had visions, and at the age of ten she was confined in a convent. In addition to being a poet, composer, biologist, and mystic, she made natural medicine and beer as it’s made today, and she was the first person to write about the female orgasm. Anne Lise Marstrand-Jørgensen (Frederiksberg, Dinamarca, 1971) inició su carrera como escritora en 1998, cuando publicó su primer poemario. Hildegarda, su biografía de la célebre monja, médico y compositora alemana Hildegarda de Bingen, recibió el Premio de Literatura Weekendavisen, fue elegida mejor libro del año en Dinamarca dos años seguidos y la convirtió en una de las autoras más conocidas de su país. También ha publicado una apasionada historia de amor ambientada en Copenhague en 1959, Det man inte vet, y la biografía novelada Margarete I, centrada en la figura de la reina Margarita I de Dinamarca.
