First Edition - 1990 Italian and English text Many objects used in the home or at work concealer history lasting hundreds, or even thousands, of years. Obviously this type of history is of secondary importance, but it is meaningful and interesting nonetheless. This itinerary takes us back in time to the prehistoric age, when man used only plants, roots and fruits provided by nature for his survival. In those ancient times, hands, teeth and stones were used to break the shells of pine-nuts, walnuts and hazelnuts. But Nan readily became more ingenious, and invented the Nutcracker, of which there is tangible evidence from 1372 on. From then, the problem of crackling notes has been tackled many times, and devices of various shapes and forms have been invented, a greater or lesser practicality. However, they are all of great interest, as well as being attractive by virtue of their decorations or amusing and imaginative shapes. Sometimes they are valuable as a result of the materials in which they are made. The authors would like to point out that this is the first book to be published in the world on the subject of Nutcrackers. Notes taken from the book. Seller Inventory # 002503
