About the Author
Cardelli, a frequent traveler throughout Asia since 1970, has made India and the Himalayas his second home. A photograher, reporter, and documentary filmmaker for specialized magazines on the Indian Himalayas, he is the author of Tibetan Shadows as well as president of the Italian Tibet Association.

Rilegatura editoriale cartonata, illustrata, con ammaccatura al bordo inferiore anteriore, piccola abrasione al piatto anteriore, qualche piccola abrasione anche lungo i bordi laterali, abrasione e residuo di vecchia etichetta al risguardo posteriore, pagine profusamente illustrate, leggermente ondulati i bordi superiori, in italiano ed inglese. Claudio Cardelli vive e lavora a Rimini, Italia. Nel 1970 compie il suo primo viaggio verso la Turchia. Da allora si sono susseguiti innumerevoli spedizioni e viaggi di ricerca in tutta l'Asia e in particolare sulle zone himalayane, Tibet, India. Da questi viaggi Cardelli ha tratto una gran mole di materiale che mette a frutto prima come fotografo e reporter per le più importanti riviste italiane del settore, quindi, verso la fine degli anni '80, come documentarista e regista. Inizia una lunga collaborazione con la Rai per la quale realizza tutta una serie di lavori legati alla tradizione e alla cultura del mondo tibetano. Nel 2004 torna dopo 18 anni in Tibet con Elio Marini per realizzare il calco della campana cristiana di Grazio Olivieri da Pennabilli nunzio apostolico a Lhasa agli inizi del 1700. Pubblica anche due volumi "Verso il cuore del mondo" e "Tra valli e picchi" e realizza il primo CD-ROM sul Tibet in Italia per conto del Touring Club e la Repubblica. Vede la nascita dell'Associazione Italia Tibet nel 1988. Da anni dirigente dell'associazione, Cardelli ha curato personalmente e partecipato all'organizzazione in Italia di svariate mostre ed eventi a favore dei rifugiati tibetani così come a numerose visite in Italia del Dalai Lama. "Tibetan Shadows" è il racconto tra parole e immagini dei suoi viaggi più significativi nei territori himalayani e nel Tetto del Mondo, il vecchio e amato Tibet, invaso e occupato dalla Cina nel 1950.
