Synopsis
From the manic streets of New York City to the spiritual haven of the Australian bush, Kim Westcott's art has pushed printmaking into a new league. Westcott has become one of Australia's leading printmakers, and it is her personal experience that has been the essential source of her inspiration. She has spent time with Aboriginal artists and New York modernists - from Emily Kame Kngwarreye to Robert Ryman - and collaborated with some of the world's master printmakers. This major monograph covers Westcott's career from 1989 to 1998. It discusses the development from her early black-and-white monographs through to her current, lavishly coloured prints.
