During the 1920s, Josef Frank's floral designs were very popular. He designed models of favorites such as daisies, tulips, roses, bindweed, violet, lily of the valley, and crocus all one continuous series of designs. He had a childhood interest in botany. Sometimes the flowers are quite naturally rendered, but were often stylized, imaginative and expressive. Josef Frank designed for Pepi. A design with flowers strewn across the surface was named "Pepi's flora." The design adorns the cover of this book.
