About the Author:

PETER NAZARETH (born August 27, 1940 in Kampala, Uganda) is a critic and writer of fiction and drama. He was educated at Makerere University (Uganda) and the University of Leeds. Earlier Professor of African American World Studies, Nazareth is currently Professor of English at the University of Iowa, in the United States, where he is also Advisor to the International Writing Program. His literary criticism has been enriched by his trenchant observations of the literatures of diverse global migrants, spanning Asian, African, Caribbean and Black American cultures and histories. He traces his roots to the Goan villages of Moira (Bardez).
