Synopsis
In this seminar, Lacan elaborates on the concept of enjoyment, central to psychoanalytic theory, which began in the 1960s and continues throughout his work. It comes from the condensation of two Freudian terms: the libido as energy of sexual desire and the death drive. It could be said that everything that reaches the limit of pleasure is enjoyment. This field of research refers to female love and enjoyment beyond the father and the phallus: it is in fact a criticism of the postulates about gender.
