The holy hierarch presented in this work is a loveable figure, likeable and rather traditional for a bishop. A simple shepherd of the island of Cyprus, with rustic habits and not very cultured, well-known for his love for the poorand his hospitality, the futyre Saint Spyridon kept the same humble lifestyle after his elevation to the Episcopal seat of the town of Trymythous. Fore his sweetness, his charity, his gentleness and his profound humility, God granted him the gifts of foresight and prophesy as well as the grace to perform numerous miracles.
