Parvin Ehtesami (1907-1941) was one of the first truly prominent female poets in Iran. Although she lived a relatively sheltered life by modern standards, she was nonetheless highly observant of the world around her. Her compassion for the human condition led to her highly original poetic voice, in which she would use natural events as allegories for people's difficulties. These books are short stories based on her poetry. They include colorful illustrations to help the stories come to life for young readers. The four stories in this collection are: Gorge Naqola; Gerehe Khosvakti; Ayeneh va Shaneh; and Baghcheye Kuchek.
