Spending money in Thailand is much easier than making it. DUKE, a mid-thirties bachelor, has learned this lesson the hard way. His business has failed, and the savings he'd built, while living a dual life as both a high school teacher and a professional gambler is gone. He is also feeling emotionally bankfrupt as his Thai girlfriend, ARRAYA, a beautiful and compassionate young day, is harboring a desire for marriage. This realization sends Duke into an introspective journey deep within the echo pool - the place where past lives reside - in order to learn from his past and find direction for his future. His life in Bangkok is an exciting one, as his wealthy Thai friends are generous entertainers. Unfortunately, no matter what diversions he finds within one of Asia's most exciting cities, everything seems to trigger the memories of his lost home. If Duke wants to survive, he must relive the lessons of his father - as painful as the recollections are - in order to find his roots and strength again.

His writing hobby has been exploding as ECHO POOL has released this year and there are plans for a YA fantasy novel to be released next year.Review:
Jonathon congratulations again on a job well done. your father would be proud. your father is proud. and i am proud of you and your accomplishments with ECHO POOL. i told you recently that i wrote down several things that i wanted to do in the NEW YEAR. one was to finally finish ECHO POOL. well, i did. saturday, i drove to Salaya (where the other Mahidol campus is located). she had to do a morning workshop....so i knew that i wanted to bring your book. i found a cool isolated place under the building and started to read. i started back at chapter 9. once i started, i only got up to go to the bathroom. i sat there immersed for 2 and 1/2 hours. i never ever do that. it's not me. i'm hyper and find my escapes in films usually. i was startled by savie at 12:00pm and somewhat disappointed that i hadn't quite finished the book. but we were both hungry, so we took off to find a local restaurant and head back to BK. that evening, i pulled out my reading glasses and a chair in the kitchen where savie was preparing a delicacy, and i finished your book. what a ride. what a story. what an accomplishment. you should be proud. i thoroughly enjoyed it and felt a plethora of emotions along the way. best, speedy --Siminoe Dot Com
