It is without contradiction that the subject of Sex has not occupied a most favorable place in the public discourse of the church for centuries. It is widely felt that the absence of a debate, or I should say a theology on sex by the church has left many of its members groping in the darkness in an effort to understand this very important, natural human experience. This has led to a myriad of misconceptions, unfulfilled marital relationships, and the playing out in secret many fantasies yielding unholy actions. The book Sexscription by Rev. Dr. Carla Dunbar will no doubt cause the eyes of many to ‘roll in their heads’; it will also stimulate many to rekindle the sexual passions that may have become buried under a false spirituality or disappointments. The book is for adult reading and must be approached with an open mind, as it will lead its readers into arguments not normally laid on the debate tables of our churches or preached from our pulpits. In addition, it significantly will help the church to breakthrough many of its prevailing stereotypes by giving voice to many secret thoughts, fantasies or even desires of those seeking fulfillment in their marriage beds.
