Professor Shen Xiaoming received his doctorate in medicine. He was President of the Shanghai Children's Medical Center affiliated with No.2 Shanghai University of Medical Science, Director of Xinhua Hospital, and Acting Vice President of Shanghai Jiaotong University.
Currently, he is Director of the Shanghai Municipal Educational Commission, Director of the WHO Collaborative Center for Neonatal Health Care, and Director of the Environment and Children's Healthcare Center. To date, Professor Shen has completed 32 state-level or municipal-level research projects, authored five monographs, and published over 150 papers in both domestic and international journals. He is also the recipient of numerous national and municipal prizes including Second Prize in the National Science & Technology Development Award (2002). First Prize and Second Prize for Science & Technology Development awarded by the Ministry of Health (1999), and Third Prize for the Development of Science & Technology awarded by the Ministry of Education (1998).
