Aetiology of Individual Obesities does not exhaustively cover all the possible causes of individual obesities (and adiposities), but serves as a preview of the complexity that actually characterizes global (collective) obesity and suggests a way forward that will encompass a more panoramic view of weight and its clinical/epidemiological management, using Evidencebased Medicine (EBM). Indeed, a piecemeal and simple solution to obesity management, relying only on one or a few scientific causes of obesities, is unlikely to succeed in defeating obesity. This is because individual obesities are multi-factorial and multi-faceted conditions, with intrinsic and extrinsic elements, that hinder the achievement and subsequent maintenance of lifelong ideal weight, in the populace. Both medical care and health care systems are needed, if we are to win the war on weight and weight-related illnesses.
