Book Description Spiral Press, New York, 1961. Hardcover. Book Condition: Near Fine. Illustrated by Fritz Kredel (illustrator). Limited. Limited First Separate Edition [Crane A40]. This copy is hand numbered "99" of just 500 copies. These have become exceedingly scarce in presentable condition during recent years. Hardcover with very light brown-gray paper over boards with the Seal of the President of the United States on the front cover. 7 3/4" by 11 1/2". 24 pages. The contents are printed black and red with gilt and gray illustrations and include the poems "Dedication" and "The Gift Outright" as well as Kennedy¿s inaugural address. On January 20th, 1961, iconic American poet and four-time Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Lee Frost (1874-1963) became the first poet to read in the program of a U.S. Presidential inauguration. Frost composed a new poem - "Dedication" - for the ceremony, but glare from the sun and snow famously prevented him from reading the sheet on which his poem was typed, so Frost instead recited "The Gift Outright" from memory. This copy also includes Frost's Christmas greeting poem "Accidentally on Purpose" for 1960. Bookseller Inventory # 025603
