About this Item

The Nobel Prize-winning Bellow's third novel was his "breakthrough" book and won him the first of his three National Book Awards. It is the story of a young Chicago man growing up during the Great Depression. Lacking a top edge stain and with "H. Wolff, New York," the printer, this copy is not a first printing of the first editon but a second or third impression. The boards show bumped corners and spine ends and some surface wear and soiling, o/w boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square. Sorry, no dustjacket. Bookseller Inventory # 004726
