About this title

Synopsis:

Rugged volcanoes isolated the ancient inhabitants of Colima from the Central Highlands during the formative era of pre-Columbian culture. The villagers of Colima were not obsessed with building pyramids and there is no surviving evidence of hieroglyphic writing systems. But the region of Western Mexico was unique for the deep shaft-chamber tombs which were filled with ceramic treasures to accompany the dead on their journey to the underworld. This book documents the remaining art found in the private collections scattered though-out the State of Colima.

About the Author:

As a young man, Richard Reynolds spent nearly a year locating and then photographing the private art collections found through-out the State of Colima.
