Decorated title page, black and white decorative headpieces. Red decorated paper over maroon cloth with gilt letters on the spine. Introduction, Biographical Note, Bibliography, Some Cheneyana, Name and Title Index, and Colophon. Colophon reads as follows: 350 copies printed in W.A. Dwiggins' Falcon and / El Dorado types using Paul Duensing's foundry cast / printer's tools ornaments for chapter headings by / Richard J. Hoffman, Van Nuys, California. / Bound by Bela Blau, Los Angeles." Colophon includes Hoffman's insignia, a printing press. Top rear corner very lightly bumped, a couple of very minor spots on rear board, else in near fine to fine condition with no internal markings. No dust jacket as issued. Born in 1907 in Los Angeles, William Murray Cheney attended Los Angeles High School and the University of Southern California, which he left after two and a half years taking a job at Dawson's Book Shop in Los Angeles. Cheney learned printing from Thomas Perry Stricker and printed various places in Los Angeles, including at (and for) the William Andrews Clark Library. Bookseller Inventory # 006163
