Original tan cloth rubbed, mild bumping to both boards' bottom corners, library shelf sticker affixed near spine heel with clear tape strip overlapping to adjacent board corners. Library stickers and date due sheet affixed upon front pastedown; library stamp and ink notation on title page; short tear ant bottom corner of pages ix-x; occasional pencil underlining scattered amongst text from pages ix to 161 inclusive as no other successive occurrences are readily apparent upon a quick perusal. Binding is firm. With Preface and Index and primary text divided as biographical section titled "Thomas Rodney" (pages 3-90), "The Nature and Place of the Territorial Courts with Respect to the Federal Court System" (pages 91-115), "The Establishment of Anglo-American Law in the Mississippi Territory" (pages 117-155), "Judicial Notes of Rodney" (pages 157-473). Attorney and politician Thomas Rodney (1744-1811) briefly served as an associate justice of Delaware's Supreme Court from December 1802 to August 1803 thereafter accepting appointments by President Thomas Jefferson for both a federal judgeship and a land district commissioner for the Mississippi Territory where he served until his death in 1811. Rodney resided in Natchez, Mississippi and purchased land in Jefferson County where the river town of Petit Gouffre, aka Petit Gulf, was renamed Rodney in the judge's honor in 1828.
