Maroon cloth over black cloth with gilt letters and decorations. Almost no wear to extremities, cloth clean, gilt bright, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Dust jacket slightly shelfworn with a few small chips missing. Julie Braun-Vogelstein studied egyptology, archeology, history of art, literature and philosophy at the universiti3s of Berlin and Munich. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Heidelberg. She is the author of other books on art, including the following: FRENCH ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPTS, INTERIOR AND STILL LIFE, and THE IONIC COLUMN.
