About this Item

Hamsun, a master teller of tales from Norway who brought us Pan, Hunger, The Wanderer, The Ring is Closed and others, won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1920. Front hinge starting. Former state library copy but MINIMALLY marked -- a handsome bookplate to front pastedown, 2 blind-and rubber-stamps to title page, a number to the chapter page, and small oval library label to spine -- easily removeable. No Colophon. Dime-sized (worn-through-to-board) spot to front board, and slight spine lean. Nice, clean affordable copy of this scarce Hamsun title. Translated from the Norwegian by Eugene Gay-Tifft.
