About the Author:
Martin Gellen is an assistant professor in the department of city and regional planning at the University of California, Berkeley. As an advisor to the California State Assembly, Gellen has written legislation promoting accessory apartments. He has also served as a consultant on housing programs to local, state, and federal agencies.
