About the Author:

In 1983, Laurie Flori & her husband David purchased a Roseberry Model Sears Home in Standard Addition in Carlinville, IL. The decision to purchase the house was the beginning of a fascination for Laurie that would span more than 2 decades. Since that time their home has been restored & has been featured on many TV Shows including H & G TV's Dream Builders, A BBC Documentary, CNN, WTVP, WCIS, WCIA, FOX & more. Many magazines & newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune & St. Louis Post Dispatch & others throughout the United States, have also featured the Flori home & Laurie's story. Through Flori's massive collection of Sears Homes memorabalia & catalogs, the home has become a monument to Sears, Roebuck & Co. Flori has shared her love & fascination for her home & community by writing "Additionally Speaking." Her home is open for tours regularly & she hosts presentations a few times a month. Her knowledge & obsession of these homes began at a time when no one even knew what they were & she has dedicated her life to spreading the word. Her friends can be quoted as saying, "She was Sears Homes when Sears Homes weren't cool."
