First Edition. Rare fanzines published during the war years when most fans were overseas. This is a complete run of Wollheim's (later founder of DAW Books) "Dawnish" language periodical. It's hard to know how seriously to take him--these might just be corny fan humor, but the entire English-language part of the third issue is devoted to blasting the Fancyclopedia's description of Dawnish: Daw states that it was created "years before Ackerman ever heard of Esperanto" and that the motivation behind its construction had nothing to do with Ackerman: "We did not think him worthy of such spite concentration." He accuses FJA of adding the Dawnish description himself. Issue 1 & 3 are one octavo leaf, printed recto only. Issue two is a folded sheet, printed on three pages, last page is blank; title of this issue is hand-lettered in what I presume is Dawnish writing. Mimeographed. Fine condition.
