Blue cloth with gilt titles in black rectangle on spine. Light edge and corner wear. Book is square and binding is secure. General aging and wear with interior toning mostly on endpapers. Jacket has much wear and some loss. Front flap detached on fold but present. Looks OK in mylar. ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 488 pages; History of plant diseases and the devastation they caused; think Irish potato famine. The book also chronicles the history of the pesticides and herbicides that were developed to stop these diseases and of the lives they saved.
