205 pages, frontis, numerous photos, SIGNED by the author, limited to 250 copies. Howard volunteered as a Union drummer boy at the age of 11, survived a skull fracture in a train accident, hunted and fished with Sioux and Shoshone throughout Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Northern Colorado and the Dakotas from age 22 to 27. He was on the Sioux campaign of 1876 with Crook's column. He was murdered in a rail yard at the age of 36. Bookseller Inventory # 6634

About the Author:

Susan Campbell Reneau was raised in Colorado Springs, CO, and graduated from Wasson High School and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). She holds a B.A. in education and speech communication from UNC and a M.S. in business marketing and public relations from American University. She has written or edited 58 books since 1982. She was given the original 1872 diary by the diary writer's daughter, Grace Howard, who lived to be 98 years old. The diary is a true American treasure never before read and enjoyed until the book was published.
