This is the interesting story of a young man's tramp through Texas and New Mexico and famous folks he runs into---Kit Carson, New York Herald correspondent W.A. Buffom--before starting his Civil War involvement. This edtion was limited to 175 regular and 25 special copies in leather from the original. The first edition is very rare and this edition is primarily owned by libraries and is quite scarce. This copy was originally owned by the Savannah Chapter(No.2 ) of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and has a label on the bottom of the front cover stating so, and a United Daughters of the Confederacy book plate on the inside of the cover. Clean and bright, with no soiling or marking and firmly and securely attached to the wraps. Booklet is 24 pages and contains a likeness of D'Hamel on the second page.
