Illustrated by Timothy Engelland, who co-founded the Deerfield Press along with Gallery Press owner Peter Fallon. Contains the revised version of "Elegy", the poem Heaney read at Robert Lowell's memorial service in 1977; and the first book appearance of "Leavings." This is the first title Heaney published with Gallery Press, marking the beginning of a long, fruitful relationship. In the publisher's dark brown cloth and printed dust wrapper.
