Unread copy, pages and cover are crisp. Protected in clear Mylar cover. There is a slight yellow fading about 1/4 inches wide on top and bottom of pages, otherwise as new book. 0395249007 Contains: Foreword, A Major Word of Thanks, Notes, List of Illustrations and Index. Illustrated with black and white and a few full-color photographs. Galbraith was a long-time Harvard faculty member and as a professor of economics stayed with Harvard University for half a century. He was a prolific author and wrote four dozen books, including several novels, and published over a thousand articles and essays on various subjects. Professor Galbraith traces, in this book, ideas and their consequences from Adam Smith and Herbert Spencer, through Marx and Lenin, to Keynes to concepts and events that gave shape to the Cold War, the modern corporation, the struggles of the Third World and the problems of modern urban society.
