About this title

'The Ako Project' is a collection of six illustrated story books about the adventure of young lemurs like Ako, a small Aye-Aye, Tik Tik, a ring tail lemur, and Bitika, a mouse lemur, in their Madagascar forest home. They are read-aloud books, for children aged 4 to 10 years old. The stories are exciting, beautiful, funny, and scary too! They feature repeated lines that children can say and copy, and even some lemur noises children enjoy imitating. The Ako Project was originally written to help children in Madagascar learn about the biological diversity and importance of their environment. Today they are available in English for more children to enjoy and to learn about the island of Madagascar, one of the most significant bio-diversity regions in the world.
