Stated first edition. Paper covered boards with brown cloth binding. 91 pp. With black and white photos throughout. A historical overview of the work in France conducted by American engineers during World War I, recounting road building, railway yard development, water works, etc. GOOD condition. Cloth heavily scuffed and worn in a few places along the front hinge. General fading and minor scuffing to the covers, with a few areas of soiling. Some bumping and scuffing along the extremities. Interior solid with minor scattered soiling. Faint staining in the gutter of the last few pages. A tear and chip in the bottom edge of the last few pages. Repaired tear at the top of the title page. Previous owner's inscription on the first endpaper, given to a George Putnam Moody (although there is no indication as to whether this is the same as the namesake of Moody Air Force Base). Inscription dated Christmas 1918. Bookseller Inventory # 005632
