About this Item

8°, contemporary speckled calf (worn, spine label missing as well as small pieces from lower portions of covers and foot of spine). Moderately browned; very slight marginal worming to first few leaves, without loss. In overall good, perhaps somewhat better than good condition. 415, (1) pp. *** FIRST and ONLY EDITION. The work deals with two questions: whether one should administer extreme unction twice during the same illness if the recipient has not been fasting; and whether more than penitence is required before one can receive Communion at Easter. The author is responding to two essays in Fr. José de S. Cyrillo Carneiro's Dissertações moraes, published in 1815, and to two refutations of those essays, by Fr. Miguel França and Fr. Francisco da Costa, both of which appeared in 1817.*** Not located in Innocêncio or Fonseca. Not located in Porbase. Not located in Copac. Not located in WorldCat. Not located in Hollis.
