About this Item

First thus edition hardcover with no dust jacket; tan boards with green and rust leaf prints on the front and back covers. The title and author are listed in black lettering with a green background on the front cover. There is also a dark green binding covering the spine edge. This is a printer's copy, privately printed for A.S.W. Rosenbach. This edition is limited to one hundred and fifty copies. There is some rubbing and edgewear to both boards with minimal warping to the front cover. Three corners have rubbed through the decorative papers to the boards. The 21 pages are mostly clean and unmarked with the exception of a very light margin stain at the bottom of pgs. 3-4. One section of the book shows a bit of webbing, however the binding is whole and firm. There are three illustrations in green ink and the book begins with a poem by Sir H. Wotton. Interestingly, there is a watermark on the title page of a hand holding four arrows with the word "WORTHY" appearing underneath which can only be seen when held up to the light. A nice limited edition copy for the collector or admirers of Washington Irving. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 001276
